Hints and Tips No. 5 Young Dog Containment Alternative
We often get calls from young dog owners who are looking for a containment system to stop their young escaping dogs. Generally though a dog containment system is not recommended for dogs under 6 months. Another alternative is a PetSafe Kennel Run. Using a quality dog run is an excellent alternative that allows you to keep your dog safe and secure when you are not around. Our quality dog runs come in two sizes and have a range of weatherproof roofing options. Made of galvanised steel, A PetSafe Dog Run makes an ideal dog or puppy enclosure when your dog is too young for an electric dog fence option! Click HERE to view the full range of kennel run options.

The Big Leash by DogWatch...It's good looks and attractive color options not with standing, The BigLeash isn't just another pretty face! BigLeash is the only remote trainer with a display that provides information about the two-way communication between the transmitter and receiver. The hand-held transmitter visually confirms that you are "linked" to the receiver and shows you the signal strength (distance) between the receiver and transmitter. The BigLeash has two dog capability and a solid 800metre range on a powerful FM signal. 10 Training levels that can be delivered as Brief/Nick or Continuous give plenty of variety when it comes to finding te right level for your dog. Alternatively there is an Audible /Vibration training option. both Receiver and Remote are fully rechargeable for added convenience. Item Features

Big Leash Remote Trainer
I’d just like to drop you a line over the Big Leash Remote Control unit. It is working just great. I had figured our dog Loki would have to spend his life walking on a leash. He is a very fast malinois, with a predator instinct second to none. With this unit we can run him free in the bush all the time, and we have total recall. 99% voice, 1% with unit nowadays. He’ll come back from 800m away. I particularly like the range finder device which is unique to the Big Leash. I cannot imagine using a device without this range finder, especially in thick mountain bushland where we are. If he vanishes from sight, without the benfit of this one feature, one wouldn’t have a clue whether he was just off the track, or 500m away. A distance he can cover in less than a minute in full flight. Moreover, if you call him back, and he his 500+ m away, you can see from the meter whether he is comng back or not. With any other system you would never know. And since it can take longer to come back, especially if it is up a steep gully, what do you do if you don’t have this feature? I can only imagine a dog would have to be zapped with other devices to track his yelp and determine what’s happening. Big Leash is therefore infinitely better and more humane for the dog. We use it daily in pretty rugged country and conditions and it works just great. We use it out on horseback too. The new refinements are a great improvement and I recommend use of the protective pouch for working in heavy rain. Is it cruel? Well as soon as Loki sees us pick up the collar he comes running to us, tail wagging and puts his head in the collar. He knows it means a run in the bush. Thank you too for your great customer service, you instilled total confidence in my dealings with you. Please feel free to use this commendation as you wish. Review Date: 1 February 2010
