The CatStop protects about 33 square metres (6 metres in front of the unit in an 80 degree arc). It is easy to use. Simply install the battery and position the unit facing the area you want to protect. The built-in motion sensor detects animals entering the protected area and emits a piercing, high decibel alarm that startles animals and frightens them away. Since the sound is ultrasonic you and your neighbors cannot hear it.
