The Koolie is a working/herding dog that has been in Australia since the early 19th century when it was bred from imported British working dogs. The Koolie thrives in varied roles such as work situations, sporting activities, loyal service or the time-honoured role of a companion Dog. Known to be patient, dedicated, with a strong sense of willingness and devotion; the Koolie is not naturally aggressive but can demonstrate dominance. They show an untiring enthusiasm for work. As with the Kelpie and Cattle dogs, Koolies as pets require obedience training as well as ongoing stimulation and activities to prevent them becoming bored and destructive. Koolies require a lot of exercise and suit families who lead active lifestyles and are willing to put in the time and effort needed to own a working breed dog.

Bark Collars For Koolies
Being a working dog breed the Koolie has a strong drive and is extremely active in nature. As a high drive dog Koolies are not very well suited to an ultrasonic, vibration or citronella collar. Such collars as Vibration, Ultrasonic and Citronella are no match for the Koolies drive if they are determined to bark.
It is recommended that owners of working breed dogs look to a quality static/electric barking collar for the best results.
