Hints and Tips No. 11 Make Sure Your Remote Training Collar has all the Features You Want!

At Bark Control we have recently noticed a lot of customers looking to buy a Dog Training Collar after having already purchased one that did not allow them to upgrade down the track as their needs changed.

For example many farmers or hunters prefer a dog training collar where extra collars can be added down the track. Some brands do not offer this and you are required to buy a whole new e-collar system. Other brands allow you to add another training collar whenever you like at a fraction of the price. The SportDog SD 1825 allows you to expand out to 6 dogs. Adding another collar whenever you like.

The Innotek SD2000 is a good quality basic containment system for dogs over 7kg on smaller blocks (under 5 acres). There are no adjustable settings of correction and the collar is only weatherproof not waterproof. So if you have a dog that gets into water ...avoid!

Economical pet containment systems suitable for easily trained dogs from 7kg up to 40kg. As your dog approaches the boundary wire into the warning zone, the collar gives a warning tone to warn the dog to turn around before the static stimuli is given. The Innotek SD2000 is suitable for properties up to 5 acres. Be aware the containment collar is not waterproof so if your dog likes a dip in the pool or dam consider another dog fencing system. Any number of extra collar (SD-2025) receivers can be added to this containment system at anytime for those with multiple dogs.

Innotek Fence Working...

Hi Neil, Just to let you know I got the Innotek fence working on my own. Would probably preferred the smaller rechargeable collar one you recommended, but that's OK. Is definitely working as both my dogs go nowhere near the fence anymore. The collar does look a bit big on my Jack Russell though! I will listen to you next time. Good Luck, Joan K Toowoomba, Qld.
