Directions for Use
Please read all instructions and FAQs carefully before grooming. Use the FURminator® Undercoat deShedding Tool only as directed. Undercoat deShedding is not the same as brushing or combing — it removes loose, dead shedding hair without cutting or damaging the topcoat.*
Step 1
Undercoat deShedding can be done anytime on a completely dry coat. For best results, use immediately after bathing or drying. FURminator® grooming products are designed to support healthy skin and coats while significantly reducing shedding in the home with regular use.
Step 2
Before using the tool, thoroughly inspect your pet for sores, bruises, or skin conditions that may be hidden by the coat. If any issues are found, consult a veterinarian before grooming. Remove tangles or mats first using a FURminator® Fur Dematting Tool or Grooming Rake.
Step 3
Use the undercoat deShedding tool like a brush, gently stroking in the direction of hair growth with the stainless steel teeth angled toward the coat. Start at the head and work toward the back. Take extra care around the stomach, legs, genitals, and anus.
Avoid repeated strokes in one area. Use long, gentle strokes that lift away from the skin. While the Skin Guard® helps prevent digging in, excessive pressure or rough brushing may still irritate the skin. If redness or irritation occurs, discontinue use immediately.
Step 4
As loose undercoat hair collects, press the FURejector® button to easily release hair from the tool.
